I’m a teacher, lifelong learner, artist, and world wanderer.
I have a passion for everything education stands for and I strongly believe that educators themselves must be aware, curious, and interested in the world before they can share that passion through teaching.
My wanderlust began as a child when I learned to read the world almanac while playing Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?, going on family vacations, and my then-obsession with reading city maps. I’ve volunteered and worked internationally including teaching in Switzerland, building a school in Kenya, and training teachers in Grenada. In university, I studied abroad in Italy. More recently, I declined a job offer in Singapore.
I started Adventure Affinity in 2015 as a passion project. Adventure Affinity is about documenting my adventures in travel & food with anecdotes, photos, and tips that I hope will inspire your own adventures. Adventures don’t have to involve getting on an airplane but can be experienced locally in your own city. My goal is to inspire you to live beyond the 9-5, to see the world & eat well.
