Food
Choose your cut of grilled meat or fish from the menu. Each selection is erved with roasted banana, panko breadcrumbs and kettle-cooked chips. We shared one order of chateaubriand and ordered an additional round of sides (rodízio de acompanhamentos, sem carnes) so that each of us would have all the fixin’s. The chateaubriand was grilled and seasoned perfectly. The sides were served in a rodízio (in rotation) style.
Sides included: creamy quinoa, seasoned rice, simmered apples, broiled tomatoes au gratin, roasted vegetables, potato purée and eggplant
All were delicious! My favourite side was the creamy quinoa and I admit I tried replicating it back home but failed miserably. It was a lot of food and I wasn’t even hungry to begin with!
The Other Stuff
When we were there, none of the waiters spoke English and it was initially challenging to communicate and ask questions. We finally conveyed that we wanted to share the chateaubriand and everything was fine after that. As CT Boucherie got busier into the evening, the waiters became less attentive to individual tables. We sat on the patio but noticed that indoor seating was preferable as the waiters took much longer (or forgot) to head outside as frequently with servings of sides!
CT Boucherie doesn’t accept reservations. Since locals eat later in Brazil, we went there at 6pm and were seated immediately. We were seated right away on the patio. Outdoor seating is good for people watching.
